About

A little about my background…

I was born in Seattle, Washington and adored performing from a young age. In typical oldest child fashion, I attempted to “pull focus” at every family event with some sort of dance or skit. My parents were constantly having to sit through hour long improvised performances I wrote, designed, and put on with my friends and my little brother. This love of theatrics was fostered by my parents and grandparents, who frequently brought me to local Seattle theaters. At age five I attended my first performance class at Stage Struck Seattle. I played a tiny part in the final show but it was enough to instill a lifelong love of the stage.

By age eight, I was taking multiple classes on improv, auditioning, and ensemble work at the Seattle Children’s Theater. Throughout middle school and high school I participated in every play I could, learning stage makeup and set painting to help out in a variety of ways. At the same time, I began to channel my love of movies into making short films and video blogs with my friends after school.

Thanks to years of work and the support of my wonderful family, I was able to attend and graduate Magna Cum Laude from USC with a BA in theatre and a minor in Cinematic arts. It was during this time that I began to truly foster my love of design, working in the USC Costume Shop for all four years of my college experience and consistently practicing my fine arts skills.

I learn so much every day from my driven, talented peers, all of whom are striving to change the world with their artwork in new and exciting ways. Like these people, I want to use my multihyphenate creativity to call attention to wrongdoing and injustice and to challenge accepted perceptions of what art can and should be.
